About Nampa, ID
In 1883, the Oregon Short Line Railway (a subsidiary of the Union Pacific) laid tracks from Granger, Wyoming, to Huntington, Oregon, changing the face of the area that is now Nampa forever. Towns were built along the tracks to take advantage of this new avenue of commerce, including Nampa. Since then, Nampa has grown into the largest city located in Canyon County. The Union Pacific main line operations is still an important part of Nampa and, in 2020, the city became the first location in Idaho to have an Amazon fulfillment center.
