Things To Do In Emmett, ID

The Emmett Cherry Festival is the region’s longest running festival and has been proudly put on by the community since the 1930’s. All of Gem County gathers together each June to celebrate the valley’s abundance. The festival begins on Wednesday and runs through Saturday at Emmett City Park. Celebrations include the Cherry Festival Car Show, Children’s & Festival Parade, the Cherry Pie Eating Contest, the Cherry Pit Spit Contest, a Fundraising Yard Sale, the Miss Gem County & Gem County Outstanding Teen Pageant, a pancake breakfast put on by the Kiwanis Club, and more! Make sure to save room after the pie eating contest so you can sample some of the tasty food and drinks from local vendors.

For residents that like an outdoor challenge, Squaw Butte is a 13.6 mile lightly trafficked trail located near Emmett. The trail is accessible year-round and primarily used for hiking and ohv/off road driving. Pack a lunch and enjoy the views of Treasure Valley from the top of the butte. Squaw Butte is considered one of the most prominent peaks in the area, running 8 miles long from north to south with a steep eastern front that rises from 2,500 feet to nearly 5,800 along the top of the ridge.

Originally known as the Ideal Theater, the theater has maintained its original charm with a stylish Art Moderne facade and affordable ticket prices.
