The Emmett Cherry Festival is the region’s longest running festival and has been proudly put on by the community since the 1930’s. All of Gem County gathers together each June to celebrate the valley’s abundance. The festival begins on Wednesday and runs through Saturday at Emmett City Park. Celebrations include the Cherry Festival Car Show, Children’s & Festival Parade, the Cherry Pie Eating Contest, the Cherry Pit Spit Contest, a Fundraising Yard Sale, the Miss Gem County & Gem County Outstanding Teen Pageant, a pancake breakfast put on by the Kiwanis Club, and more! For residents that like an outdoor challenge, Squaw Butte is a 13.6 mile lightly trafficked trail located near Emmett.
